Swiss Asian Summer School in Public Administration 2019 Successfully Held

On July 8 to July12, Swiss Asian Summer School in Public Administration 2019 was successfully held in Guangzhou South Campus, Sun Yat-sen University. This summer school was organized by our vivid network of research and teaching institutions from Switzerland (University of Lausanne), South Korea (Seoul National University), and China (including Chinese Academy of Governance, Beijing; Renmin University, Beijing and Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou). In 2019, it was hosted by School of Government, Sun Yat-sen University and attracted 25 teachers and doctoral students from partner institutes to participate through providing diversified and effectual exchange platform with academic seminar and filed trips.

After the opening ceremony on the first day, the academic reports begun. Participants delivered valid lectures on their own research interest including urban governance and innovation, public policy, smart city, Public Budgeting, corruption, public service, and other related governance topics. In order to learn more about the practice of local governance in Guangdong, the participants had paid a visit to Guangzhou Environmental Monitoring Center and had interactive discussion with the staff. On July 11, the participants had a tour to Foshan, a historical city of Guangdong, to experience the charm of Lingnan culture.

 On the Celebration Ceremony of July 12, the participants shared their feelings and opinions with each other and received a certificate for participation. The institutes participating in this summer school have taken the occasion to strengthen mutual communication and laid a solid foundation for further cooperation.
